How do I create an account?#

You can create an account through the Huurmarkt website or app.

Step-by-step registration#

1. Click "Sign up" or "Create account"
2. Pick one of the following methods:
   • Continue with Apple
   • Continue with Google
   • Register with email
   • Register with phone number
3. Complete the verification step (if applicable)
4. Your account is created instantly
5. You can now rent or list items

Signing in without a password (important)#

For email and phone, Huurmarkt uses a verification code per login.

This means:

• You don't create a password
• You receive a one-time code on every login
• You enter that code to gain access

This improves:

• Security
• Ease of use
• Reduced risk of hacked passwords

If you sign in with Apple or Google, authentication runs through their secured system.

What information do I need?#

The following details may be requested at sign-up:

• First and last name
• Email address or phone number
• Profile photo (optional)
• Location or city
• Additional details if you plan to list items

You must provide accurate and up-to-date information.

False or misleading information can lead to:

• Account restriction
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent removal

Can I sign up as a business?#

There is no separate business account at this time.

Businesses can create a regular account and:

• List items or services
• Receive bookings
• Receive payouts
• Collect reviews

A dedicated business account with extra features may be introduced later.

Email verification#

When you register with an email address:

1. You receive a verification code by email
2. Enter the code to activate your account
3. Your email address is confirmed

Check your spam folder if no email arrives.

Phone verification#

When you register with a phone number:

1. You receive an SMS with a verification code
2. Enter the code to activate your account
3. Your phone number is confirmed

Make sure your number is entered correctly, including the country code.

Common problems#

I don't receive a verification code#

• Check spam or junk mail
• Check that your phone number is correct
• Request a new code
• Check your internet connection

My social login doesn't work#

• Check that you're signed in to Apple or Google
• Try the same method again
• Use email or phone as a fallback

I accidentally created multiple accounts#

Creating multiple accounts without permission is not allowed. Contact Support to merge or remove duplicates.

• You must be at least 18 to use Huurmarkt.
• You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Never share your verification codes with anyone.
• Huurmarkt will never ask for your verification code via chat.

The verification code is personal and temporary. Never share it with other users or via chat.

If someone asks for your code: → End the conversation → Report it via Support
