What data does Huurmarkt process?#

Depending on your use, the following may be processed:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Profile information
• Payment-related information (via external payment provider)
• Identity verification data: the status and, upon approval, first name, last name, date of birth, nationality and document type
• Chat messages
• Booking and transaction data
• IP address and device data

All processing is tied to platform use.

Payments and external parties#

Huurmarkt uses an external payment provider for payments.

Important:

• Huurmarkt does not store full card details.
• Payment data is processed via the payment partner's secure systems.
• Payouts go through an external provider.

For identity verification Huurmarkt works with verification partner Didit. The check runs automatically: document verification, a liveness check and a 1:1 face comparison. Huurmarkt itself does not store document copies or biometric data; upon approval we store first name, last name, date of birth, nationality and document type. If you use the optional AI photo scan when creating a listing, your photos and optional title are processed server-side by AI provider Anthropic (US), solely to generate suggestions for your listing — not for advertising or marketing purposes. See Fill in with AI.

Chat messages may be stored to:

• Record agreements
• Assess disputes
• Prevent misuse

Chat communication is not made public and is used only within the platform context.
